A unidirectional rotor turns in both directions, but only winds as it turns in one direction, while a bidirectional rotor usually winds as it turns in either direction. However, the bidirectional rotor of the 1200S is only winding the movement in the clockwise direction (to the left when looking at the sapphire case-back of the watch).
