「ダクトに擬態するLEDサイネージ」をデザインしました。東京駅至近、アップルストア丸の内の隣り、新しいユーザベースのオフィスのなかにあります。「ユーザベースの象徴になる場所をつくってほしい。」と依頼を受けました。そこで、経済情報インフラを目指すユーザベースを可視化できないか、と考えました。ユーザベースが提供するSPEEDAやNewsPicksの経済情報がダクトのなかを流れ、日本経済の中心地のひとつである丸の内という都市のなかを駆け巡る様をイメージしました。1年間の太陽光の入り方をシミュレーションし、さらにセンサーを設置して、LEDの映像に影を付加しています。また、階段などの色の映り込みも反映しています。アイデアの発端は、東京駅と皇居周辺であることによる千代田区の厳しい景観条例にありました。つまり、制約の中から生まれたアイデアです。オフィスが路面にあることから、よく歩く人がぎょっとした感じで立ち止まって、スマホで撮影していってくれます。
改めて、詳細な記録映像と写真、システム構成を後日アップさせてもらいます。

We designed LED signages that mimic ducts. They are located in the new UZABASE office, next to the Apple Store Marunouchi, near Tokyo Station. We were asked to "create a place that would be a symbol of UZABASE. We came up with the idea to visualize the economic information infrastructure that UZABASE is aiming to become. We simulated a year's worth of sunlight, installed sensors, and added shadows to the LED images. The color reflections of the staircase are also reflected in the images. The idea originated from the strict landscape ordinance of Chiyoda Ward, which is in the vicinity of Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace. People often stop to take pictures with their smartphones.
