Never posted this on IG before…MacArthur Park. About 8 Years ago, I was given an interesting assignment from David Letterman and Paul Shaffer: sing Jimmy Webb’s “MacArthur Park”, with orchestra, in one take, in front of a live audience and (later that night) in front of a TV audience of millions……oh yeah, while playing my trusty Sadowsky bass. No pressure!!
Anyway, I love Jimmy Webb and have always been intrigued by this song - not to mention Richard Harris’ stunning studio vocal performance - never to be matched.
Anyway, this is how it went down. Long live Jimmy and his music! #thisboyslife
