Bringing forth a theatrical production that saw a strong 100 models runway, fusing pioneers, luminaries and contemporaries in the form of Pa Salieu, Kojey Radical, Rap Man, Unknown T, Goldie, Nicholas Pinnock and the sultry close of the show was Mr Idris Elba. Black A.I is Chapter 3 of a journey that had started in 2016 in Lagos Nigeria with a show entitled Africanism. This was followed by A.I in Harlem, New York in 2019. Finally, in 2022 Black A.I a homecoming of the soul was presented at the iconic Savoy Theatre. He welcomed 1500 star studded guests who danced to the old school tunes of Jazzie B, while echoes of the African continent were shaped through the rhythmic drums of Yousef Dayes, Black A.I was poignantly named to alter the idea of Black, whether as a people, culture or colour. A.Iexplores artistic integrity, ancestral inheritance and everything in between. Boateng’s Autumn/Winter 2022 collection is a reflection on the presentation’s message.
