TOYOTA GAZOO Racingの来年の体制発表を行いました。

そこで、私が最近「もっといいクルマづくり」という言葉に、意識的に「モータースポーツを起点とした」という言葉を付け加えているというエピソードを紹介しました。

ずっと「トヨタには、そんなクルマづくりをできるはずがない」と悔しい言われ方をしてきました。

しかし最近、トヨタのエンジニアやメカニックだけでなく、プロのドライバー、エンジニア、メカニックが一緒になってクルマづくりをしていくように、トヨタは変わってきました。

このような仲間たちがそろってきた今だからこそ、ようやく我々は「モータースポーツを起点としたもっといいクルマづくり」がスタートできる、そんな段階にこられたと感じています。

先日の体制発表は、そんな仲間たちの出席のもと行うことができました。
例年に比べ、早い時期での発表です。

他のチームのドライバーからも「トヨタっておもしろい」「トヨタのクルマに乗ってみたい」と思ってもらえるような魅力あるチームをつくってまいります。

来年も、TOYOTA GAZOO Racingへの熱いご声援をよろしくお願いします！

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing announced its 2022 motorsport team setups on December 6.

Within my speech, I shared my episode that recently, whenever I talk about “making ever-better cars,” I intentionally combine the phrase “through motorsports” together. In the past, most people thought Toyota could not make those cars.

But, we have changed. Not only the engineers and mechanics, but with pro drivers included, we became united as one team.

It is because of this transformation; we can proudly state that we are at the starting point of “producing ever-better cars through motorsports.”

It was my honor to announce our 2022 team set up with all of our team who made this happen.

Our next goal is to make gripping cars that other team drivers desire to get on, and with this team, I cannot wait for it to happen.
