There were many curveballs and many many times where I felt completely lost and broken and had no clue how I was going to make it. Grieving the loss of my mom 4 months ago all-while training for the Olympic Games forced me to make room for painful growth, more love and appreciation for the little things, to never stop fighting and most importantly taking a day at a time. I truly believe that God took away my biggest supporter physically as a way to strengthen my spirit and open my eyes to show me how BIG my support system is. I felt deeply touched by every message, prayer and check-in conversations. It was louder than any cheer that can come from being in the stands.
