Having grown up in Tokyo I was very active in sports where I learned so much through spending time with teammates and rivals.

When I was a junior athlete, so many parents, coaches and supporters gathered to not only cheer for us but also provide food and drinks to avoid heatstroke and other possible physical damages.

Their support went beyond organizations and classes we belonged to. For someone with few relatives, the people I meet at these sports events became another family to me. To this day, I still consider sports as a big family.

私の中の基本的な気持ちなので、
写真と一緒に書こうと思います。

東京で生まれ育った私は、スポーツに出会い、
チームメイトやライバルやコーチと過ごす時間の中で、
人として大切なことを学びました。

ジュニアアスリートの頃は、様々な規模の大会に
多くの保護者や関係者の方々が駆けつけてくださって、
熱中症を予防するためのドリンクや差し入れが用意され、
家族や所属の枠を越えて励まして下さいました。
だから、
親戚の少ない私にとってスポーツの場で出会う人たちは
もうひとつの家族のようでもありました。
今も私は変わらず、
「スポーツは一つの大きな家族のようだ」と思います。
