Environmental anthropologist Shafqat Hussain has used his 2006 Rolex Award for Enterprise to further the development of his Project Snow Leopard. The scheme compensates herders and shepherds for the loss of livestock caused by the predator and teaches villagers how to construct leopard-proof shelters for their flock.
