Typically they're found living with humans as pets, because hunters shot their mothers for meat. Monkeys are notoriously difficult to care for, and like humans they require strong social bonds to live happy, healthy lives. Luckily, MJ was rescued by Peruvian nonprofit @hojanueva and later transferred to a rescue center with a group of spider monkeys, where she could make friends and learn skills for living in the wild.
