Its color varies from green, pink, red, brown, and ocher white to a golden yellow. The venom of the leaf scorpionfish is considerably weaker than that of the lionfish and stonefish. This remarkable species can be found on tropical coral reefs, from shallow water to a depth of 130 meters. I found and photographed it at roughly 20 meters while producing our film "Vamizi: Cradle of Coral" off the coast of Mozambique.
