I recently started a series of artwork inspired by my grandmother’s and mother’s journey North out of the segregated (Jim Crow) South to Hyannis, Massachusetts in search of a better life for our family. I’m exploring my relationship to their narrative of taking part in the #TheReverseFreedomRides.
