We revisit the soundtrack for LOEWE Spring Summer 2021: an interpretation of Thomas Tallis’ Spem in Alium, the complex motet for 40 voices, directed by Adam Bainbridge aka KINDNESS and commissioned by @Jonathan.Anderson.
An existing recording from The Tallis Scholars, the leading ensemble in Renaissance polyphony, has been mixed with contributions from KINDNESS, American composer and vocalist Hanna Benn, French-Malagasy pianist and composer Mathis Picard, Swedish songwriter, DJ and performer Robyn, and jazz vocalist Vuyo Sotashe. A layered piece of ancient music gains further sonic layers; an aural translation of LOEWE’s prismatic identity.
