“If I were to give my younger self advice, I would say that it’s ok to stand up for myself and it’s not rude to do so. I grew up in a predominantly white neighborhood. I was bullied for things like my hair, but I wish I would’ve stood up for myself because it is ok to be different now and it was ok to be different then,” says professional dancer and choreographer, @allisonclaire42.

Now, Allison says, “No matter what I wear, I am unapologetically me.”

“Black History Month is a time to educate myself and celebrate Black history. I never knew how much I didn’t know, so I believe it’s time to learn as much as possible.”
