Photo by Aaron Huey @argonautphoto / A portrait of a young boy covered in paint at a carnival parade in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. J'ouvert, the name for the festival, is a contraction of the French jour ouvert, or dawn/daybreak. Bands of people covered in paint, mud, and oil make their way through the streets of Port of Spain, drinking and dancing, to welcome the daybreak of carnival Monday. COVID-19 cancelled carnival this year in Trinidad, but the memories I made photographing scenes like this a few years ago are still strong! Follow @argonautphoto for more #TrinidadCarnival images.
