Songwriter and producer Tima Diakite (@timalikesmusic) is known for the catchy tunes she creates in her bedroom studio, and she made this one for Black History Month.⁣

“Knowing that this rhythm and this style of singing and the soul — it comes from pain, it comes from speaking the truth,” she says. “That’s what brings me Black joy, is to know that though this came from hurt, we turned this into magic.”⁣
