Ghana’s #Atewa Forest is a special place, not only because of the wildlife it safeguards, but because of the many communities that depend on it for clean air and water, medicine, climate regulation, and natural beauty. But bauxite mining for aluminum could leave the forest stripped and devoid of life.

Global manufacturing companies @bmwgroup, @tetrapak and @schueco have signaled their concerns over the use of bauxite sourced from Atewa Forest for aluminum. Join me, @global_wildlife_conservation and a number of other conservation organizations in calling on Ghana’s government to #SaveAtewaForest by designating it a national forest.
