Yet less than 5 people have actually checked in. I don’t blame you though because the news is barely covered by any outlets. Around this time last year when COVID started becoming more serious, we had witnessed so many hate crimes with elders being jumped out of nowhere, getting called racial slurs , an old grandma being set on fire in Chinatown NY. But we are still LARGELY ignored by the mainstream media. Putting races aside, it’s incredibly terrifying to witness anyone being attacked yet no one is paying attention. Yesterday was the first day the news getting picked up by a few media outlets when Asian hate crimes has spiked 1900% in NYC over this past year. The hate is not new. The struggle is undeniably apparent. But the silence is deafening.
