ルーブル美術館さんのインスタグラム写真 - (ルーブル美術館Instagram)「. 🇫🇷 Pour ce nouveau #ConnectingCollections, intéressons-nous à la restauration de notre collection de 1440 stèles puniques ! ⤵️ - 🗓 Jusqu’à la fin de l’année 2022, le Louvre mène un travail de restauration sur l’ensemble des 1440 stèles puniques provenant de Carthage dans les nouveaux espaces du Centre de conservation du Louvre à Liévin. - ✍️ Ces stèles mises au jour lors des fouilles de Pricot de Sainte Marie en 1874 et 1875 sont intéressantes pour leur iconographie, leurs inscriptions mais aussi leur histoire tumultueuse à l’origine de leur état de conservation actuel. Chaque stèle est nettoyée par microsablage, avec de l’oxyde d’aluminium (ici par la restauratrice Anne Liégey). - 🔎 Dans certains cas, des restaurations fondamentales associant des fragments grâce aux recoupements avec les estampages du Corpus Inscriptionum Semiticarum, permettent de redonner toute sa lisibilité à cette série d’ex-voto témoignant de la piété des Carthaginois envers les divinités Tanit et Baal Hammon. - - - - 🌍 For this new #ConnectionCollections post, let’s focus on the restoration of the collection of 1440 Punic stelae! 👀 - 🗓 Until the end of 2022, the museum carries out the restoration of the entire collection of 1440 Punic stelae from Carthage in the new spaces of the Louvre Conservation Center in Liévin. - ✍️ These stelae, discovered during the excavations of Pricot de Sainte Marie in 1874 and 1875, are interesting for their iconography and their inscriptions, but also for the tumultuous history behind their present state of conservation.
