I remember the feeling, in that moment, that I didn’t want to be a bystander in life anymore, particularly about issues I care deeply about – and my country is certainly one of those issues. When you think about the places where you can have an impact, especially with regards to the threat of terrorism, there really is no better place than CIA. . In college, I remember thinking that I would have to get a Master’s degree, or maybe even a PhD to be qualified for a job here. I was in it for the long haul, and was prepared to slowly build a resume that might one day land me my dream job. When a recruiter came to campus my Junior year of college, I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised to find my path to CIA much quicker than I had anticipated. . That path has led me to an incredibly rewarding career and – beyond that – an incredibly rewarding life. When I met my now husband it was clear to me that he was someone who cares just as much about these issues as I do, who is motivated by a similar sense of duty, who has made similar sacrifices.
