Are you able to recognize your own unconscious biases? Probably not — after all, they are *unconscious*. Our brains are naturally wired for bias, says social psychologist Jennifer L. Eberhardt PhD (@jennifer_eberhardt_). "We create categories to make sense of the world, to assert some control and coherence to the stimuli that we're constantly being bombarded with," she explains in a TED Talk. Unfortunately, that human tendency can cause us to form mistaken assumptions about entire groups of people, leading to discriminatory policies or practices. So how can each one of us resist and push back against our own biases? It's as simple as stopping — and thinking. Watch Dr. Eberhardt's full talk here: http://t.ted.com/RBEIKBM
