Sazan Hendrixさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Sazan HendrixInstagram)「Yesterday I took my time and I’ve got to tell you about it 😌 I woke up, went to church & had lunch with the family, came home, put the girls down for a nap, and then laid on the couch cuddled with Stevie catching up like we were in college again. That quality time was so nice that I even fell asleep on what I call “the nook” (his cute little shoulder pocket) and then when we all woke up, we drove to the park and enjoyed some fresh air at sunset hour. 🧡 We totally lost track of time and left when it was dark, so when we got home we kept things easy and heated up some left overs. All this to say, I went to bed last night feeling full. Full of leftover pasta and full of appreciation for that simple wonderful day in my life. It was one of those days my phone had full charge because I hardly looked at it. For me those days have been some of the best days of my life. What I’ve learned is simple doesn’t mean boring or unproductive. Simple days can bring you so much joy. I’ve conditioned myself to move at lightning speed so I’m learning all over again how to re-train my steps. I’m learning how to walk slower and be OK with stepping into the day at a patient pace. Giving myself the necessary time to simply be present and lean into God’s mercy and grace. I say give yourself that pocket of time in your life (whether it’s a Sunday or an hour every day) to quiet the noise and walk away from the agenda. It’s in the spontaneity where I’ve found freedom and a peace that follows. Sundays are totally going to be my day of true REST. I want my girls to see that working hard is important but so is resting hard. I am walking into this Monday with this feeling of lightness over me. It feels like my mind, body and spirit are low key thanking me for taking a chill pill. Lol! I’m so ready to see what this week has in store.
