【Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo's Design Story - Episode 2】
当館では「森と水」をデザインコンセプトに、ホテルが所在する日本橋三井タワーを「一本の大きな木」、また、客室を木の集合体である「森」と捉えています。館内の多岐に亘るアイテムは、テキスタイルデザイナー須藤 玲子氏 が手掛け、職人や工芸家の技術を用いたオリジナルのファブリックにより、日本の芸術や文化の伝統を、色・模様・質感を通して表現しています。

Following the theme, "Woods and Water", the Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, where we are located, is conceived as a single large living tree, and guestrooms are regarded as forests, a collection of beautiful and life-giving trees. A wide variety of items in the hotel use fabrics crafted by Japanese textile designer, Reiko Sudo, with the original fabrics having been designed using the techniques of craftsmen that express the traditions of Japanese art and culture through colours, patterns and textures.
