Artist, designer and creative director @CarloBrandelli’s latest project in collaboration with artist @Ewawilczynski combines performance art, painting and sculpture.
The new work, debuted here and created during the lockdowns of 2020, focuses on the energy exuded from exhaled breath and is composed in stages. With each exhalation, a line of gold paint is applied to paper in a downward motion. After 1000 breaths and many months, a mass of densely-layered paint is formed. Once dry, the ethereal gold object can be removed from the paper, taking on new life as a sculptural form.
The piece is the second work by the artists in a series they are calling ‘New Spirit Paintings’; the first of which we showcased on wallpaper.com this time last year. Click the link in our bio to explore further.
