I’ve had more good encounters than I have had in the past, which is saying something with these small and elusive cats. Many of my sightings of bobcats in the past have been made up of the cats slinking away or hiding in thick bushes, acting shy in front of the camera. For whatever reason, I’ve had the luck and privilege of being around many calm and relaxed cats who at times could care less about my presence. The younger cat pictured here repeatedly walked my way and would sit down scanning the meadows for its next meal, allowing me to go prone and get eye level with it. I had encountered this bobcat once before and was surprised at its acclimated nature, but it still seemed a little hesitant. When I found this bobcat for a second time last week its behavior was as calm and relaxed as my own cat at home! I wonder what my third sighting (fingers crossed) of this bobcat will hold....」1月27日 3時52分
