All I can say is, if you’re somewhere where they don’t speak your language, or are confused by your customs and beliefs, and you’re without most of your family, and feel very different, I see you. I have spent so many years trying to assimilate, and yet never quite feeling like there is a place I can truly call home, or where I felt like I belong. The gift of being around on this earth long enough, is that, more than ever, I know it resides inside me. I am proud of my history, my ancestors, my roots, I am a Russian Jew. America has changed over the last three decades, or perhaps revealed itself more deeply. Lately I’ve felt conflicted about all the sacrifices that were made to create a life here. And yet, there’s no other place like it, and I’m grateful to it, for introducing me to New York, for teaching me about freedom, and gracing me with a home here, and a family of my choosing. I am a proud New Yorker. Over the years, I have come to find out, that I am many things. I am not someone who personally finds labels necessary or conducive. But, sometimes, we must identify ourselves, for others to feel less alone. So, today, I am a proud immigrant. And a very grateful one. #иммиграция」1月25日 0時03分 - margaritalevieva

Today marks 30 years since I immigrated to America.

What a wild ride it’s been.
Hard to find words to encapsulate the experience.

Over the years, I have come to find out, that I am many things. I am not someone who personally finds labels necessary or conducive. But, sometimes, we must identify ourselves, for others to feel less alone. So, today, I am a proud immigrant. And a very grateful one.
