Embedded in the legacy left by Dr. King, is his drive to push forward, regardless of barriers and fear. His vision of a better future serves to motivate us all in so many aspects of life. Taking steps to end injustice doesn’t start or end with a day. It is a life long journey to inspire others to continue to do the same. Dr. King understood that as a civilization we can always be better, but we cannot accomplish anything working against one another. Beyond activism, Dr. King was a father, husband, brother and son. To so many others, he is responsible for altering the lives of millions of Black Americans for generations to come. We are reminded of the foundation he lay and the continued pursuit for the civil and economic rights of the Black population of our country. The same values and demands that pioneered the American Civil Rights Movement in 1960’s are the same values and demands that we continue to fight for today.
