She was kind of a mentor to me, always generously making connections for me in my early years as a glamour model. She was also a photographer. I’d go over to her house, and there’d always be a bevy of Playboy Playmates running around in costumes, taking pictures. Mamie Van Doren was even there once, being photographed nude by Julie! It was always a scene! Julie was a legend.
