One thing that I've learned in 2020 was that little social media breaks are necessary, especially when it's a part of your job. What really made me come to that realization was how it would start to have an impact on what kind of mother I was. During some weeks, I would be on my phone, scrolling, reading comments or DMs, watching other people's stories and my anxiety would start to rise. After that, my mood would start to shift and I'd become snappier, losing patience rather quickly. I would take what I was ingesting and project that on to my family. That's one thing that's unacceptable - social media having an impact on how I react to my children! On days where I start to feel that happening (lately, it's more than ever before), I check in with myself and take a little breather. It allows me to be more focused and it's always a welcome reset.
