When I decided to go back to the past of the House it was during the first lockdown already 9 monthes ago... this famous 2020... I was asking myself : what is the future about ? What are we gonna do in a year... what do we want ? What do we need ? I tried to understand the vision of Monsieur Pierre Balmain that built his own brand in 1945 after the second war, a vision based on optimism , craftsmanship couture and timeless elements that will define his house for centuries. I brought back his monogram because I wanted to remind people that even if it’s almost a decade that I m the creative director of the house , Balmain is about PoP culture and not only the witness of my decade but a witness of 75 years of history. I m know for my PoP culture , digital extravaganza , selfies à gogo and Fashion shoW to remember... but a side of me that I’m sharing with you since few monthes now is my obsession for the past to bring it today in an era where we need to reestablish the fondamentals , and strong values that defines IDENTITY that are not anymore about trends but about TIMELESS. This is a new era at Balmain that goes back to a beginning of 75 years ago. Are we calling a start a restart , a new beginning. Let’s just call it
BALMAIN PARIS SINCE 1945.
