This is how we spent our Christmas , for the last 2 years I’ve done my best to feed anyone who needs it, with no strings attached for the longest time I kept this private because it was not done for any other reason than to help those in need. The sort version of what to me is an extension of my life , started by wanting to help. Just outiside my studio in the alley there is a dumpster as I looked to my left I saw a beautiful elderly woman with so much pain in her face that her gaze stopped me in my tracks. She was rummaging through the trash .. I asked “ are you hungry “ she answered as if gasping for the words “god yes” I ran inside and took everything I had that was in the fridge and gave it to her , she inhaled the food , I left to go on a hike and for 3 hours all I thought about was, why is the world this way ? How can there be such wealth around my studio but people don’t have food or fresh water.. WHAT CAN I DO TODAY WITH NO ONES HELP.... so that day I grabbed a box from my studio and I attached it to the wall , I made it part of my code , my operating system to help others always even before myself.. from then on everyday I could I put food into the box and feed as many people as I could , the box is color blind , it’s neutral , no judging , no limit to race creed or circumstance just a simple way to give . so for me today this was Christmas.. and it felt right to share this because we all need help we all need a hand up or a second to catch your breath and remember your not alone ... so now it’s 2 years later , and this box has giving me much more than I’ve given... be well Merry Christmas you are not alone.
