This sheepy scene was requested by @BethlStorey in Northumberland for her partner James, @Jamesthesculptor, who lives 300 miles away in London. 'We haven't seen each other for ten months due to the pandemic. One of the last things we did together in February was take a trip to Tate Britain where I waxed lyrical about this painting. Our English Coasts is probably my favourite piece in the collection. I know it's not terribly large or arresting, just a small landscape with sheep. But it's so skilfully painted and wonderfully observed, and it reminds me of brighter days and that they will come again. It takes me back to this one day in February when my boyfriend and I were together without a care in the world.'
