Anyone else? 🙆🏼‍♀️ Whether it was toxic friendships who'd bring me down or emotionally unavailable fu*k boys, I'd cling to them. I'd call it loyalty, or I suppose trying to win their affection felt easier than dealing with rejection. The thing is though, until we read the signs and let go, we stop better from coming into our lives. My life completely changed the moment I learnt to let go of toxic friendships and stop chasing unavailable people. I only have amazing and supportive people in my life, many who only appeared once I let the old ones go... Even though it was painful. It's funny that it's hurtful to say goodbye to friendships even if they're not good. What helped me, was to visualise that the universe (or god or whatever you want to call it) had something better in store for me. If you relate to this, maybe you're going through a breakup, or maybe you're sat refreshing your phone hoping that the emotionally unavailable person taking up all your energy might finally text you back... Imagine that right now you're clinging onto this tiny crusty teddy bear. It's got a stinky attitude, commitment issues, it brings out the worst in you... But you want that bear. Little do you know, that the universe has this bigger and better bear behind its back. This bear is everything you ever wanted: loyal, honest, supportive, kind. You just can't see it yet, but all you have to do is trust the process and let go of what no longer serves you. I saw this on a cartoon years ago, although it was Jesus holding the bigger bear, and so I never quite connected with it, so I wanted to recreate it. So if you're clinging onto that crusty old bear, it's time to let it go. Were nearly at the end of the year...
