🧳 Unboxing the ultimate steamer trunk by @ルイ・ヴィトン 🧳 From an edition of 5 dubbed the "Marilyn" – this rare trunk was created to showcase 33 Takashi Murakami bags, presented during the artist’s retrospective at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles in 2007.

Perhaps more than any other major artist of his generation, 51-year-old #TakashiMurakami has called into question the boundaries between art and commerce, a territory he has explored with Louis Vuitton since 2003. Murakami first began collaborating with the revered luxury goods producer when Marc Jacobs joined the house as Creative Director, Murakami took the famous Vuitton Monogram and made it his own by producing it in 33 different colours and applying it playfully to a classic bag.

This rare Marilyn is open for bidding online in our Art of Giving: The Luxury Wish List sale, closing tomorrow at 2pm GMT.
