Nope, you're not looking at a snowstorm ... you're witnessing the largest synchronised coral spawning event in the world! 😮 This natural phenomenon takes place across the @gbrmarinepark each year, where corals release trillions of eggs and sperm into the ocean to create the next generation of coral - a sign that the reef is alive and working 💙 According to @masterreefguides @johnny_gaskell (who captured this incredible footage in the @whitsundaysqld), this occurrence was a 'lighter spawning than usual', meaning it is possible that another round of #CoralSpawning will occur this month!
