When night falls is a story about my best friend and I growing up. We were quite gregarious. When I was a teenager my best friend Titi and I would purchase bolts upon bolts of fabric every Saturday morning in downtown Miami. We would stitch up giant tulle and lace Ballgowns or rade my mothers closet which had tons of beaded gowns and a huge vintage collection, major shoes I think my mom had at least 2000 pairs of shoes. Titi and I would do this every night in preparation for the evenings to dance the night away at all the gay clubs in Miami and Ft Lauderdale. We would descend from the staircase of my parents home in Coconut Grove and give my parents a fashion show or just sneak out...This became a long time tradition as teens it was all about getting ready and playing dress up before going to all the fabulous clubs as young girls and as a young ladies who began traveling and playing dress up and going to the best parties as a Duet. Sometimes we would change our looks 10 times before leaving the house. It had to be perfect...it was all about making an entrance and shutting down the room and dance floor. This was our release, our escape,our protection and our way of getting through anything.
