First memory I have drawing I was 3 or 4, drew a so called “portrait” for my classmate in Kindergarten. She loved it so much that she stuck it onto her red lunchbox and went around showing everyone during recess, saying how beautiful I made her look and feel. I honestly didn’t think the crayola scribbles were that “pretty”, but to her it was and that was enough. This feeling really, really stuck with me. It felt incredible to feel useful for somebody, that something so simple as a drawing could put someone on clouds. Clearly I clutched onto that thought and 20+ years later, here we are.
