Jason G. Sturgillさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Jason G. SturgillInstagram)「It’s Transgender Awareness Week. I debated making an illustration to bring attention to this issue but I felt uncomfortable representing a group of people I wasn’t part of. Instead I wanted to extend the broadcast that @draplin has given to @morimayaan to educate anyone unfamiliar with the trans community. I assume that I’m speaking to an echo chamber of like minded folks that are supportive of all of our fellow human beings but as shown in Draplin’s comment section there are still people that haven’t had any real exposure to the lived experiences of others that don’t mirror their own. I wanted to highlight some responses to those comments that put it more eloquently than I ever could to hopefully further the discussion and reach anyone that might have closed minds or friends or family that this might be shared with as well. We all don’t know what it’s like to live another person’s life but some people feel the need to judge something they know nothing of. I get it, I was raised in a small religious community that was close minded to the gay community, and I was a part of that until I left my bubble and met and became friends with people of all walks of life. We’re never going to get to a place of universal love and acceptance until we can stop ostracizing people on either side of whatever fence is polarizing. From my experience those barriers are only broken through listening without accusation and contempt. It’s quite possible that I’ve misspoken and I welcome any opposing views. I just ask that any discussion below to be civil and open to hearing each other’s point of view. 🏳️‍⚧️ ❤️✌️🌎 #transgenderawarenessweek」11月19日 7時14分 - jgspdx
