A great amount of natural light shines throughout this Houston family home, which was designed by Marie Flanigan and Melanie Hamel of @marieflaniganinteriors. The designers were determined to not block the windows with curtains, and instead treat the "windows like art" by hanging the curtains all the way at the top of the ceiling. "Using velvet and textured fabrics allows the colors to retain their richness, even in full sunlight, Hamel says. "These materials, as well as the plaster walls, interact with the natural light to make the space come alive. We wanted to maintain the views by keeping the pieces in front of the windows sculptural and open." The dining room table by @rosetarlowmelrosehouse is surrounded by vintage chairs from @m.naeve. A pair of sconces by @bec_brittain flank a custom console by Neal & Company. The chandelier is by @johnpompstudios, and the rug is from @shiirrugs. Click the link in bio for the full tour.
