Living in Costa Rica has shown me the effects of climate change first hand. Right now we are in an environmental crisis due to recent hurricanes. Costa Rica has been recognized as a world leader in human rights and environmental conservation, but we have a long way to go to protect our lands from climate change and pollution and to promote environmental justice. Climate Justice is Social Justice; keeping the two at the center of the debate is the only way to address the environmental crisis we are facing.
