Today is Veterans Day here in the US, when we honor those who have served. The problem is, we like to thank our vets one day a year, rather than helping them EVERY day. The rates of homelessness, suicide, PTSD, depression and health problems is STAGGERING.
If we truly want to honor our vets, then we need to defend them and fight for them, as they have fought for us.
Just because I disagree with many of our countries reasons for going to war, does NOT mean that I in any way feel that our Veterans are not deserving of all the help they can get. They should be supported, helped and honored. They have gone through the unimaginable, and the true way to show our respect is to make sure that they have shelter, health care, mental health resources and benefits that are easy to access.
There are some great charities out there, but one of my absolute favorites is @garysinisefoundation
The programs they have and the work they do for Vets and their families is unparalleled.
Give them a follow, check out what they do and make sure you do research into what charities you use! We want to make sure as much is going directly to vets s possible.

To our Vets: Thank you is not enough. You deserve more. If we send you to war, you shouldn’t have to fight battles alone when you return.
