Today, photographer Gillian Laub (@gigilaub) is on the ground in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to capture portraits of the first voters leaving the polls on #ElectionDay.

Tap the link in our bio for a guide on how to watch the #ElectionDay results.

Slide 1) Ashley, 29, and Mack, 39, are raising their family of seven children—ages 16, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2—in Pennsylvania, although they’re originally from Far Rockaway, Queens. They each voted for Joe Biden, but note that they want to see most from the polls is civility. “I hope everybody is respectful and stays in their lanes,” says Mack.

Slide 2) Victoria Bilski, 21, and Morgan Bilski, 19, woke up at 6:30 a.m., excited to vote for Donald Trump. “This is my first time voting in a presidential election,” says Morgan; the sisters, who are both students at Wilkes University, waited in a 1.5 hour line to cast their ballots.

Slide 3) Nima Patel, 25, and Kishan Patel, 20, weren’t sure what to expect when they left their Minorsville, PA home to vote for Joe Biden. “Nobody else here is Indian,” notes Nima; they both felt that the mostly white crowd outside the polling place was representative of the local demographic.

Slide 4) A local poll monitor looks on as people line up to cast their votes in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, where Donald Trump and Joe Biden both held rallies this week.

Slide 5) Sherry Huntzinger, originally from Dallas, works at a local church in Pennsylvania and has nothing but good things to say about Trump. “I think he’s fabulous,” she opines.
