President Theodore Roosevelt once said “Comparison is the thief of joy.” While that is very true, so is anxiety. Anxiety robs you of your joy and it robs you of peace. It can be ultra deceptive because it stems in your brain but it can manifest into your entire body which can make you feel like you are shutting down. I know because I’ve been there many times. The good news is you actually have power over it! So for what it’s worth, here is my encouragement for you. If you are feeling unsettled because of the uncertainly that lies ahead, try to remain present in the current second you are in this very moment. For example, right now, you are reading this caption and staring at this precious angel baby’s face. Tuna’s mission from day one is to bring you a ton of joy and maybe even a little bit of laughter, if you can muster it. Keep coming back here every time you are feeling anxious. Or pray. Or read truth. Or talk to someone who is wise and comforting. But if you can help it, don’t give anxiety power by going too far into the future. And stay off of social media for the next several days or weeks, as well as refrain from watching the news. Those platforms will only heighten your anxiety and rob you of the joy that is rightfully yours! Don’t allow the division, the hate and the confusion that gets served up on those platforms to be invasive intruders and have authority over you because they are thieves too, and are even more destructive than anxiety because they will take everything they can from you! But you are in charge of your heart and your mind. Guard them wisely by choosing to be present. Choosing joy. Choosing peace. And most importantly, choosing love because love is the crux of all things. Ps: If anyone needs to hear this tonight, even if it is just one person: YOU ARE LOVED! So so loved! I love you, God loves you, and Tuna does too. This is fact!
