When I initially came to the Himalaya, it was about climbing. But after 12 trips in 3 years, I found myself immersed in the culture just as much as I was infatuated by the surrounding mountains. Quickly, these trips became more about what I was seeing and the cultures I was experiencing. That's the thing about climbing. This life-long search for the most spectacular summits in the world has taken me to places I would have never otherwise thought to go. In the end, climbing is simply the catalyst.
