PLEASE READ!! As some of you might know I was in the water when my best friend got her arm bite off by a tiger shark. For many years after (especially after having a kid) I would think about the attack and even dream about sharks trying to get me. I developed a fear of sharks and every time I surfed I would get this crazy hit of anxiety that I would have to talk myself out of. Since surfing and being in the water is my life Iv been trying to work on this and educate myself on sharks and there behavior. Then almost 17 years later a tiger shark named Riley came and said hello while diving with @oceanramsey and @juansharks I never thought I would be swimming with something I feared for so long. Riley did about 4 passes by us and I was able to dive down and make eye contact, it was beautiful and I’ll alway remember it. I had tears of joy instead of this fear I thought I would of have. It was peaceful and it was like he was telling me something..... they are not the thing we need to fear. I know this can be hard to wrap your head around but shark attacks are very rare and they don’t see us as food. All I know is we need to save these amazing creatures. We need them more then they need us.
