• In July, right-wing president Andrzej Duda was re-elected with a campaign that attacked the LGBTQ community, claiming that they are not people, but an ideology.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
• In August, Warsaw police arrested Margot, a non-binary activist, and placed her in pre-trial detention. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
In response to her arrest, a number of protesters took to the streets which saw a further 48 people detained.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
i-D travelled to Warsaw to meet the LGBT+ activists who are risking everything to fight for a ‘Polish Stonewall’. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
