In the mid-90s, after decades of Soviet suppression, came the ability, albeit short-lived, for LGBTQ+ individuals to openly display their sexual preferences. In 2013, however, the Putin administration enacted legislation limiting the expression of homosexuality.

This image is one of my sixty photographs displayed at Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo in Austria, which only runs for three more days, through October 26.
