We end our first season of The Dissenters with the unstoppable and mythic HILLARY CLINTON!

You know her story, so here are the highlights. Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton is an attorney, diplomat, author, and served as Secretary of State, Senator from New York and as First Lady. Hillary became the 1st woman to be nominated for president of the United States by a major political party and the 1st woman to win the popular vote. She is the founder of Onward Together, an organization that works to advance progressive values by encouraging people to organize, get involved, and run for office.

Hillary has spent her life fighting for women’s rights, healthcare and education. In this episode, we wanted to focus on, of course, dissent. The role it plays in democracy, the challenge our country is facing today as dissent is being criminalized and silenced, and what this means against a backdrop of the rise of fascism and nationalism in this country and around the world.

She's a total hero to both of us and to women all around the world. She has modeled so much of what it means to be an advocate, activist, and dissenter. We could not imagine a more special way to close this podcast season than by sharing Hillary’s journey and her reflections on dissent and democracy.
