Being able to play for our Kauri team in the middle (hopefully not the end😜) of my career has been the most amazing experience! I have ALWAYS wanted to play for home like my dad and uncles and to get to have the experience we did this year, makes it so much sweeter. I haven’t lived in Kaikohe since I was 6 and when we moved I hated it. Moving away from my whanau to Auckland, this big scary place, was heart breaking! But here I am nearly 20years later. I got to hang out with my aunties and uncles more than I have ever and spend some quality time with my cousins! I even got to do some building 🔨 with some more uncles, for my uncle on our papakainga 🥰 But no matter where we played my mum and dad and whanau were sure to be there and I’m bloody thankful for everyone that has supported me either at the games or at home from the couch!! My whanau is my WHY 💗 A massive thank you to our manage 👏 👏 ment!
