10月22日(木)には、ガラプレゼンテーションで
最新作『朝が来る』が上映されます。
上映後にはリモートでQ&Aを行う予定です。
釜山のみなさま、お会いするのを楽しみにしています！

この度はアジア最大の釜山国際映画祭アンバサダーへの就任依頼をいただき誠に光栄に存じます。
私の映画キャリアは釜山映画祭の歴史とほぼ同時です。
この25年の様々な変遷を経て今年のコロナ禍にあっても映画祭を開催される背景には大変な決断とスタッフの努力があってのことでしょう。
ここに敬意を表すと共に、それらの活動を通して広く世界に釜山映画祭がこれまで以上の発展を遂げられますよう祈念いたします。
またアジアの多様性と底力を自身の監督作品を通して発信し届けてゆきたいと思います。

Along with some great people such as director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, director Hirokazu Kore-eda, director Lee Chang-dong, and director Jia Zhangke, I was chosen to be an Asian Cinema Ambassador at the 25th Busan International Film Festival!

My most recent film, True Mothers, will be screened at the Gala Presentation Thursday, October 22nd.
After the screening, we will have a remote Q&A session.
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in Busan!

I am extremely honored to serve as an ambassador for the Busan International Film Festival, the largest film festival in the world.
My film career is almost identical to the history of the BIFF. With a variety of changes over these 25 years and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic this year, it must have taken a big decision and large amount of effort from your staff have this film festival.
As I express my respect, I pray that through all of that work the BIFF can grow even more all around the world.
I also hope that the diversity and power of Asia can reach even more people through the works of all of these directors.
