The new flagship Speedlite EL-1 with its improved quality of light, built-in fan to keep the flash from over heating and new rechargeable battery allow me to capture moments as they unfold. I am no longer waiting for the flash to recharge, the EL-1 has 0.9 second recycle at full power with an improved 335 full power flashes between recharges.

This lifestyle engagement session of Erica and Sir demanded the fast recycle time. The waves were washing over the sidewalk and my goal was to create a photograph that reelects the engird of the couple. To capture this photograph I used three EL-1 Speedlites grouped together all in Group A, I triggered the Speedlites using the STE3 Speedlite Transmitter in ETTL mode. I often group three Speedlites together using the Westcott Triple Threat for increased flash performance. The EL-1s grouped this way performed like a studio strobe on location. The EOS R5 with eye/face/head detection enabled provided the perfect exposure as the ambient light was rapidly changing."
